Adventures & Fitness
When I'm not working with data, I'm testing limits. Endurance races, long-distance adventures, and a general unwillingness to sit still.

Adventures

Drove a glorified lawn mower 5,000km across India. Colorful rickshaws, questionable navigation, and unforgettable encounters along the way.

Cycled coast to coast across Taiwan, completing the route of the 'King of the Mountain Race' — the cycling event with the 2nd highest elevation in the world.
Most people do this legendary loop on the back of a motorbike. We decided to power it with the best engine available — our own two legs.
First week in Asia, age 22. What better way to get a lay of the land than to do it by land, on my own, by motorcycle.

Trekked to the foot of one of the world's most iconic peaks — Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 metres.

Summited Lenana Peak at sunrise — the third-highest peak in Africa. One of three major summit completions alongside Mt Rinjani and Mt Kinabalu.

Scaled the highest peak in Southeast Asia via the famous Via Ferrata route, above the clouds in Malaysian Borneo.
A week-long adventure driving a motorcycle and wild camping across the Mongolian steppe.
Kayaked the Mekong river from the Laos border to Kratie, Cambodia — days on the water through one of Southeast Asia's most iconic waterways.

Lessons
Long-distance adventures and endurance events require meticulous planning. Nutrition, logistics, pacing, contingencies. The same systematic approach drives my project work.
Plans rarely survive contact with reality. Whether it's a broken rickshaw in Rajasthan or a data pipeline failure, the skill is adapting quickly without losing sight of the goal.
You don't finish a marathon on enthusiasm. It's months of consistent training. The same applies to building data systems and delivering complex evaluations.
Most of the valuable work happens in the uncomfortable zone — whether that's kilometre 35 of a marathon or navigating competing stakeholder priorities in a census operation.
Coming soon
I'm building a fitness race event in Cambodia. Details coming soon. Follow me on Instagram for updates.
